What makes Cleaning For A Reason significant for Helping Hands Commercial Cleaning?

At Helping Hands Commercial Cleaning, we are acutely aware of cancer’s devastating effects on families. Our founder’s personal experience witnessing her brother valiantly combat Lymphoma for eight years has deeply impacted our company’s mission. Diagnosed at 32, he bravely fought until 40.

During this time, our founder’s family faced towering challenges. Her brother’s wife and their family endured profound hardship, instilling in our team a resolve to aid those in similar situations.

Moreover, we are immensely thankful for our exceptional team and clients rallying around this cause. Their support has been pivotal, empowering us to offer our services to those in dire need. We take immense pride in providing complimentary cleaning services to women engaged in the fight against cancer.

Additionally, through partnerships and generous contributions to entities like Cleaning for a Reason, we’ve facilitated a sense of well-being for women in treatment. Furthermore, our dedicated team stands committed to positively impacting the lives of these courageous individuals as they face their trials.

Who qualifies for free cleaning services through this program?

Any individual currently undergoing active cancer treatment is eligible for complimentary cleaning services. This includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, or any other physician-supervised cancer treatment. The program is open to employees at client companies, their family members, friends, or anyone in the Chicagoland community facing this battle. There are no income restrictions or insurance requirements—if you’re fighting cancer, Helping Hands wants to help.

All types of cancer diagnoses are covered. Whether it’s breast cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, leukemia, or any other form of the disease, patients undergoing treatment qualify for services. The program doesn’t discriminate based on cancer type, stage, or prognosis—support is available to anyone in need.

Typically, the program provides cleaning services twice per month during active treatment periods. However, Helping Hands understands that each situation is unique. Depending on treatment intensity, specific health needs, and availability, the team can work with families to arrange a schedule that best supports their situation—whether that means more frequent visits during particularly difficult treatment phases or adjusted timing around medical appointments.

The service includes comprehensive house cleaning covering all main living areas: kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, and common spaces. Services typically include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, bathroom sanitization, kitchen cleaning, and trash removal. The team uses hospital-grade disinfectants and follows strict protocols to ensure the home environment is as clean and safe as possible for immunocompromised individuals. Specific needs or concerns can be discussed when scheduling services.

Services are available throughout the greater Chicagoland area, including all of DuPage, Cook, Kane, Will, and Lake Counties. This covers communities such as Villa Park, Naperville, Elmhurst, Wheaton, Oak Brook, Downers Grove, Lombard, Schaumburg, Aurora, Joliet, and surrounding suburbs. If you’re unsure whether your location is within the service area, contact the team at (630) 530-8121 to confirm availability.

Correct—there is zero cost to the recipient. No hidden fees, no future obligations, and no expectation of payment now or later. This is a genuine gift to the community, funded through Helping Hands’ partnership with Cleaning for a Reason and supported by generous contributions from clients and team members. The goal is simply to ease one burden during an incredibly difficult time.

Requesting services is simple and confidential. You can call Helping Hands directly at (630) 530-8121 or email [email protected] to discuss the situation. A team member will personally reach out to coordinate details, answer questions, and schedule the first cleaning. If you’re reaching out on behalf of someone else (a coworker, friend, or family member), that’s completely welcome—the team will handle outreach with sensitivity and respect.

Absolutely. Many cancer patients continue working during treatment, and the program is designed to support them. Cleaning schedules can be arranged around work hours, with services provided while you’re at the office or during times that work best for your routine. The goal is to make life easier, not more complicated.
